On January 2nd I woke up with toothache. Not bad but you know this irritating pain as if you have a bruising and you know it will get bad if you don't do anything about it. Yeah...that!
On Tuesday January 3rd I phoned my dentist. She is on vacation all of January and I got the telephone number of the replacing dentist.
Went there at 11h and he abraded the molar that felt bruised. Apparently because of teeth grinding I had bitten the molar loose and that caused the irritation.
It got worse and I phoned the replacing dentist on Thursday January 5th to find out he was now not the replacing dentist and was referred to the replacing dentist.
Are you still following this? Bare with me though!
The replacing replacing dentist abraded the bruised feeling tooth and the molar before that. It seemed a little inflamed on the photo but nothing to worry about until my own dentist was back from vacation.
On Sunday January 8th I woke up with a swollen cheek and tremendous pain. I went to the hospital ER after I phoned them and they said I should come straight over. The doctor I saw put her finger in my mouth and pressed the gum. In ten seconds she said it was an abcess of the root of a tooth and I should see a dentist and send me away.
I phoned my dentist to find out who the replacing dentist now was. So then I went to the replacing, replacing, replacing dentist!
You still with me right? Bare with me!
After an hour of waiting 3 photos were taken and she said the molar far in the back should come out. So in went the anaesthetic injections 1, 2 and 3.
After 20 minutes she pinched a needle to see if I had any pain. Yes, I did and in went anaesthetic injections 4, 5 and 6. She tried again after 10 minutes and pinched the needle again. Ouch! And then it was time for the big anaesthetic drugs and in went injections 1, 2 and 3 of that and 4, 5, 6 and 7 after 10 minutes. Oh boy...I was feeling soooo sick and had so much pain!
The replacing, replacing, replacing dentist really fell for me. She said I should be treated by a surgeon for this but there is no surgeon available on Sundays.
She pulled out the molar and let me pay 164 euros!
I went home.
It got worse...
Monday morning January 9th I had not slept all night even after drinking a bottle of wine. Painkillers didn't do anything anymore. I felt very sick of all the aneasthetics and the pain was not bearable. I phoned the hospital and asked, begged and finally shouted to get an appointment at the surgeon.
He saw me that afternoon.
A full overview photo was taken and he concluded that the replacing, replacing, replacing dentist...extracted the WRONG tooth.
He sent me home with antibiotics because the inflammation was too bad to do anything now without causing more infections.
Yesterday I had a outpatient surgery where he opened up the gum and treated all the inflamed roots.
And now?
I look like this....see the resemblance???
Yes, you bet I will file a complaint about the replacing, the replacing and the replacing dentists!
